Hi guys! so I've been trying to research what medals would have been awarded to navy or marine corps soldiers during WW1. Or even which one would be more likely for a person to serve in, I need help because the character I'm writing about is American and I'm not American. I've tried a google search but it doesn't help me narrow it down to what would have been awarded and what time frame, I want to get this right as the tv show I'm writing the fic for is based in semi realism where real world events have happened, so if anyone knows something it would really help and I don't want to half ass this character by making a fake non-real medal.
